You know the same old story, a need and want of something. A goal. Fixing home, building it, and getting it finished in late 2018 wasn’t easy, as it never was, and never will be. You know how it is. Visiting hardware stores when other sleep, always in a need of planks, boards, masonry mortar, nails and screws, you name it, the list is never ending. Its like you know you need four of something, but you settle for three, for the budget. Thats how the story always goes, but you just try to make it with less. All you wanna do is to finish, or do the thing, whatever it is.
So, you get to it, and just when you are getting somewhere, you notice, its not enough, you need some more, whatever you’re missing. Its the thought in the back of your mind, which you tried to ignore, push away. But then, little by little it hits your face, and just when you are getting somewhere, you notice, its not enough, you need some more. You know a bag of Portland cement, a single bag, it’s not much, but if you haven’t got it, what can you do? And the store is 50 km away, 1 hour’s drive, and you are in a hurry. Are you?
You think of solutions? You go through all your storages, and use whatever leftovers you have, but it doesn’t get you far. You try to buy it free, but it never works either, getting salesperson angry for asking too much and too many discounts. Nothing is free you know, or is it?
So you think to yourself, you gonna overwork to get more money to finance the thing that needs to be done, but that doesn’t work either. You find yourself incapable of getting what you want, tired, grumpy and in lack of time.
Then the COVID-2019 hit the planet, and it became increasingly more difficult to move around the planet and shop, and budgets got smaller and smaller, while prices skyrocketed. How on earth am I gonna do what I wanna do? Like buying a thing for a buck today, and next morning its 5 bucks. You got the picture, and the things you wanted or needed, what happened to them? They stayed in the back of your head…
So you need to be inventive, you need to change, and as you know its those moments of scarcity that leads to inventions, abundance, and success, as always. You gonna adapt. Its like when you have the worst cards in your hand, what could happen next? Well, you could get the winning hand, so no reason to throw in the sponge, not just yet. Well, what to do then, you could try getting used stuff or something, its cheaper, but how to find it? You turn to traditional online markets, you know the place you type in the search word, hit enter, choose from a list, and then think how to get the darn thing to your home? And its always hours drive, or days postage. Pickups and deliveries, what a hazzle. It robs your time, effort, and money! Wish the thing was next door, what if… and boom the idea hits you…O, and the fear that the bug might get you. What bug. The COVID, forgot? In 2019.
You see the new solution to your problem as you look out of your window in the bleakest greyest moments of your life. As you use the online market you realise, what if we organised it so we could see what is available around us. You rise your sunken head up thinking, and there you see it, your neighbour opening his garage, and you realise what a source of stuff people have at their homes, cluttered, stocked, piled and hidden from their eyes in to spaces they wanna forget. Then it hits you, such place of trade, just imagined, doesn’t exist, and only way to get it, is to build it from scratch.
Seasons change, time pass, and COVID comes to an end, but finally there you have it. And it works! This was the starting point for RoundBuy or AroundBuy, though it had many and different names from the beginning. A new marketplace, where you would see what services and products are offered or sought around you. A place where each user forms a HomeMarket offering and searching for some stuff or things. Where you could make discoveries of something useful, things you needed
or wanted, but you could base the buying decision on near by availability. And the fun thing is you can save money, get profits, free some space of old stuff without investing much of your time! So if you have a bag of Portland, who knows, who might needed? Don’t toss it away, but advertise it at RoundBuy! In the markets around you!
